M.Sc. Sustainability Science and Solutions
In Sustainability Science and Solutions programme at LUT University you will learn to identify the challenges of sustainability and view them in a multidisciplinary way, producing solutions, which cover all of the aspects of sustainability on a wide range in the society.

In the Sustainability Science and Solutions programme at LUT University you will study courses in renewable energy and energy efficiency, waste management, life cycle management, emission control and reduction, climate change and sustainable business and innovation.
Climate warming, weakening air quality, water pollution and waste amounts are examples of sustainability challenges faced around the world today. Sometimes traditional technologies offer best solutions but also integration of novel solutions to complex environmental problems are needed.
Solutions to these global challenges, such as environmental sustainability, call for systems thinking. It is increasingly required to understand the context in which the product is going to operate, whether that relates to the need to reduce emissions, use less oil-based fuel or water, disassembly at the end of its life or marketing in a region which taxes based on a footprint. By understanding the broader context in which the challenges lie, we are able to identify more sustainable solutions.
After having completed the studies, you will have good competencies to work in international and multidisciplinary environments.
As a graduate, you may assume positions in industry, consultancy, regulatory agencies, and governmental and non-governmental organisations, where growing interest in sustainability has created new employment opportunities.
